Sony unveiled the new Sony VAIO Z series ultra-mobile laptops to battle the Apple MacBook Air. The New 13.1-inch VIAO Z Series weighs only 1.15kg and is 16.65mm thin. This is even a bit thinner than the MacBook Air on its thickest point.Other features of the Sony VAIO Z include 1,600x900px resolution screen, 256GB HDD, 14 hour battery life, USB 3.0, HD web cam, Core i7 and Core i5 CPU options and up to 8GB RAM.
Sony also offers an external Power Media Dock that gies the VAIO Z extra graphics power.
The VAIO Z series starts in the UK for 1,434 Pounds (~$2,300). There has not been an announcement of the VAIO Z in the US yet. It might still come today.
