Windows XP comes in October 2001 and soon dominated the PC OS. Successor, Windows Vista, is viewed as a product failure. While Windows 7 is expected to replace XP as the OS of the most popular, but it seems to still take time.
According to data from Strategy Analytics, Windows XP still holds 47.29% market share followed by Windows 7 with 30.36%. Different data presented by StatCounter which mention Windows 7 in power with 40.39% market share and Windows XP with 38.54%.
Although the data is different, it shows Windows XP is still popular even though Microsoft is apparently trying to persuade consumers to switch to Windows 7. This is seen for example with Internet Explorer 9 can not operate in XP.
Windows 7 itself fairly successful product with 450 million copies have been sold since its introduction in 2009. Similarly, as quoted from eWeek, Saturday (29/10/2011)
