The iCade is a classic example of how April Fool’s Jokes can go so right. When ThinkGeek came up with the then fictional iCade, little did they know how well received it will be. The joke was so well received in fact, that Ion decided to manufacture and sell the real thing. So now, we have a way of enjoying the iPad in true arcade style. iCade, which is currently the only iPad arcade cabinet in the market, has built-in full-sized joysticks and buttons to let you experience arcade gaming at its best with your iPad. The cool thing about iCade though is that it isn’t just for display. In fact, it is compatible with about 100 Atari games, including classics such as Asteroids, Centipede, and Battlezone. The games, however, do not come with the iCade , but can be downloaded through your iPad’s App Store. What comes with the iCade is the Atari Greatest Hits App, so that finding and downloading your favorite Atari games becomes super easy. Of course, it’s not as if it’s that hard to find a game in the App Store! You can also download one free Atari game using the app. At only $99.99, perhaps the only real bummer with the iCade right now is that they don’t ship it outside the US and Canada yet.
