Samsung has seemingly confirmed that it will produce the next-generation Nexus handset with the Google Nexus Prime to be the first device to come running the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
Leaking the plans via the company’s official Romanian Samsung Mobile Twitter feed, Samsung has declared that it will manufacture the Google Nexus Prime with the new OS touting handset to launch later this year.
“Yes, the next Nexus will be Samsung and it will have Super AMOLED HD,” a recent Tweet on the on the Samsung Mobile Romania Twitter feed read before being hastily deleted.
As well as running Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich mobile operating system, the Samsung produced Google Nexus Prime is expected to launch with a hefty array of premium specs including a 720p Super AMOLED HD display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and an optimised 5-megapixel camera with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities.
Recent rumours have suggested that the Nexus Prime will land with its ‘monster-sized screen’ this September as direct competition for Apple’s expected iPhone 5 release.
